Songs We Like - Green Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf
January 3, 2016
This is a tune that we picked up this past year and it's a crowd fave. Â Green Eyed Lady was released by Sugarloaf in 1970 as a single and made it to the number 3 position. Â It was to be one of only two Top Ten hits for Sugarloaf, the other being "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You".Â

Â
It was written by Jerry Corbetta (Keyboardist and Lead singer) and Dave Riordan.
Â
A few versions of the tune have been released, due to the original song being five minutes and fifty-eight seconds long, including long keyboard and guitar solos. Â The popular version still aired on radio is three minutes and thirty-three seconds long.
Â
Paragon plays the long version, including solos by Mark D and James. Â Both Mark and Mark carry the "riff", combining bass guitar with low-end Hammond B3 full stop settings.

Here's the original Jerry Corbetta and the more recent iteration of Sugarloaf doing this tune: Â
